Tessitura Software Expansion Continues At Record Pace
Brooklyn Academy of Music, McCarter Theatre, Dallas Opera, Opera Theatre Saint Louis Added To Growing Tessitura Licensee List
Brooklyn, NY; Princeton, NJ; Dallas, TX; St. Louis, MO -- October 8, 2002 -- The recent addition of four major arts organizations to the rapidly growing Tessitura licensee base of symphonies, performing arts centers, operas, theatre companies and ballets highlights the industry leading position of Tessitura Software. Tessitura is a proven enterprise-wide software management system selected by numerous North American arts organizations including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Metropolitan Opera, The Kennedy Center, Lyric Opera of Chicago, City Center, San Francisco Symphony, Seattle Opera, Houston Ballet and the Santa Fe Opera.
Jack Rubin, business and marketing director for Tessitura and President of the Tessitura Network, commented, "Each of these organizations carefully considered their needs and determined that Tessitura provided advanced business functionality in a proven application. Tessitura takes 'constituent management' to another level by providing a complete view of every constituent including all of their contact points for business and service transactions. Customer service is considerably enhanced, customer retention is improved and fund raising and marketing campaigns are able to be more targeted and efficient."
Tessitura, originally developed by The Metropolitan Opera for its own use, was implemented in 1998 and replaced multiple separate systems that handled ticketing functions, fund raising, marketing, customer care and performance reporting. The system was made available by the Met to outside clients in 2001 and the growth has been dramatic with over 20 users / licensees brought on board in less than a year. Bill Mason, General Director of the Lyric Opera of Chicago, an early Tessitura adopter, commented at the Tessitura Network August business and user conference that, "The economic climate we are working in these days makes it crucial that the tools we use to generate revenues be of the same caliber as the art we create and I know in Tessitura, we have the best. In fact, I believe the creation of this network and the explosion in the number of users is one of the great stories in the arts in North America."
