Tessitura Software Selected By San Francisco Ballet

San Francisco Ballet Added To Rapidly Growing Tessitura Network

San Francisco, CA and New York, NYÐ March 4, 2003 -- The San Francisco Ballet, after extensive market review and due diligence, recently selected Tessitura Softwareª from Impresario, L.L.C. for box office operations, fundraising, reporting, marketing and customer relations management. Tessitura is a proven enterprise-wide software management system selected by numerous leading North American arts organizations including The Metropolitan Opera, Boston Symphony Orchestra, The Kennedy Center, Lyric Opera of Chicago, City Center, San Francisco Symphony, Seattle Opera, Houston Ballet and the Santa Fe Opera.

Tessitura, originally developed by The Metropolitan Opera for its own use, was implemented in 1998 and replaced multiple separate systems that handled ticketing functions, fund raising, marketing, customer care and performance reporting. The system was made available by the Met to outside clients in 2001 and the growth has been dramatic with over thirty users / licensees brought on board in less than two years. Smeeta Sharon, who is responsible for Business Operations at the Met, noted that "Tessitura enabled the Met to enhance their constituent management and improve service to our patrons. We are very pleased to be able to be able to assist other arts organizations with this powerful functionality and the San Francisco Ballet is a great addition to the growing Tessitura Network of licensees."

Founded in 1933, San Francisco Ballet has a long tradition of artistic innovation and excellence. As AmericaÕs first professional ballet company, the Company presented the first full-length productions of both Nutcracker and Swan Lake ever seen in the United States. Now, under the artistic direction of Helgi Tomasson since 1985, San Francisco Ballet continues to push boundaries with cutting-edge new works by contemporary international artists, while remaining committed to excellence in the classical tradition.

Jack Rubin, business and marketing director for Tessitura Software and President of the Tessitura Network, commented ÒWe are very pleased that an organization of the stature of San Francisco Ballet selected Tessitura in order to enhance their business tools for the future. Tessitura takes 'constituent management' to another level by providing a complete view of every constituent including all of their contact points for business and service transactions. Customer service is considerably enhanced, customer retention is improved and fund raising and marketing campaigns are able to be more targeted and efficient."
