The Kentucky Center Goes On-Line with Ticketing Software from Tessitura
The Kentucky Center has successfully changed over to a completely in-house ticketing system, ending their previous relationship with Ticketmaster. The Tessitura ticketing system goes into effect August 1, 2005, and promises to enhance customer support and responsiveness at the performing arts center. The first two shows to go on sale August 1 are Lucinda Williams at the Brown Theatre, and the Louisville Ballet’s 2005/2006 season in Whitney Hall.
Michelle Veit, Director of Ticket Services, is thrilled about licensing a system that will launch The Kentucky Center into the next level of patron and donor relations. “Tessitura was developed by and for the Metropolitan Opera and is the most advanced Ticketing/Development software currently on the market,” says Veit. “Tessitura is also an ‘in house’ system, meaning that patrons will be handled solely by Kentucky Center employees who know and deliver our products better than anyone else. We will now be able to house patron information. Transactions will now take less time because of this stored information.”
Tessitura puts the Kentucky Center at the forefront of ticketing technology, joining other leading performing arts organizations in North America and the UK including the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Symphony, The Kennedy Center and Royal Albert Hall. The Kentucky Center will also be using Tessitura to sell tickets for the Louisville Ballet, Kentucky Opera, Louisville Orchestra and PNC Bank Broadway in Louisville.
The Kentucky Center will be a member of Tessitura Network, Inc.®, a nonprofit company ((501(c) (3)) established to further enhance Tessitura Software over time and to effectively provide ongoing support and consulting services for Tessitura licensees.
